Sony PlayStation 5 Slim (CFI-2000, CFI-2100): Look at the front of the console: this one has a disc slot. The model number is on the label underneath it when it stands upright, but both slim consoles read CFI-2000 or CFI-2100, so the code cannot tell them apart and the disc slot can.
Sony PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition (CFI-2000, CFI-2100): Look at the front of the console: this one has no disc slot, just a flat face. The model number is on the label underneath it when it stands upright, but both slim consoles read CFI-2000 or CFI-2100, so the code cannot tell them apart and the missing disc slot can.
Sony PlayStation 5 Pro (CFI-7021): The model number is on the label on the back of the console. PS5 Pro consoles read CFI-7021.
Microsoft Xbox Series X (Xbox Series X): The model number is printed on the white label on the underside of the console, next to the barcode.
Microsoft Xbox Series S (Xbox Series S): The model number is printed on the white label on the underside of the console, next to the barcode.
Nintendo Switch 2 (BEE-001): The model number is printed in small text on the back of the system and reads BEE-001. By eye, the Switch 2 is the largest of the three: the screen is wider and the controllers clip on with magnets instead of sliding down a rail.
Nintendo Switch OLED Model (HEG-001): Open the wide stand on the back of the system and the model number is printed underneath it. It reads HEG-001. By eye, the OLED Model is the one whose stand runs the full width of the back rather than being a thin flap.
Nintendo Switch Lite (HDH-001): The model number is printed in small text on the back of the system and reads HDH-001. By eye, the Lite is the small one piece handheld: the controllers do not come off and it does not dock to a television.
Valve Steam Deck OLED (Steam Deck OLED): Valve sells this one under the name Steam Deck OLED and the earlier handheld under the name Steam Deck LCD, and that name is what is on the box. The OLED screen is the brighter of the two.
Meta Quest 3 (Meta Quest 3): Meta sells this one as the Meta Quest 3. By eye it is the slimmer of the two, and the front is flat with three narrow oval sensor windows in a row across the middle.
Meta Quest 3S (Meta Quest 3S): Meta sells this one as the Meta Quest 3S. By eye it is the deeper and rounder of the two, with two round camera clusters on the front instead of the Quest 3 row of three narrow oval windows.
