What it adds: A spare silicone belt for a few dollars, the one part of the deck that is certain to perish and slow the platter down.
Why it fits: Same silicone loop, same job on the Orbit Basic: when pitch starts to wander on an older deck, the belt is the first thing to change.
Gen 1 and Gen 2 belts are not interchangeable.

What it adds: Cork in place of the felt mat that came on the platter, which damps better and stops the record lifting with the sleeve.
Why it fits: On the Orbit Basic the cork sits over an MDF platter, so it is doing the damping job the dearer acrylic platter does higher up the range.

Why it fits: The Orbit Basic is the model that ships on the MDF platter, and U-Turn quotes the wow and flutter this acrylic one gains over exactly that part.
